Clicking that never stops. A burner that lights slow, or one that won't light at all. Electric coils that stay cold on high. Cooktop faults are usually a fouled igniter, a cracked switch, or a loose element terminal. Gas is common in San Francisco housing stock, and old grease under the burner caps causes more trouble than people expect. We clean, test, and replace only the part that failed. If you smell gas, shut the valve and step outside first. Then reach us or use the quote form.

We cover San Francisco from 94102, 94109, 94110 and 94112, and cross the bridge for Oakland and Berkeley homes too.
Modern gas ranges need electricity for ignition and controls. After an outage, the board can lock up. Unplug the range for five minutes, then plug it back in. If burners still won't spark or the oven stays dark, the board or igniter module needs testing.
A brief whiff right at ignition can happen. A smell that lingers, or one you notice when nothing is on, is not normal. Shut the gas valve, open windows, leave, and call your gas utility first. Then call us for the repair.
The glass itself is replaced, not patched. Cracks let moisture reach the elements and wiring underneath, which causes shorts and nuisance shutoffs. We check whether the elements and limiters survived, since those often need attention at the same time.
On electric ranges, a weakening bake element or one failed leg of power slows heating badly. On gas, a tired igniter draws current but never reaches the temperature that opens the gas valve. Both are testable in one visit.
Tell us your neighborhood and ZIP when you call us. We book by area so a Sunset stop and a SoMa stop land on the same run. Parking is the wildcard here — if you have a driveway, garage spot, or a loading zone nearby, mention it. That alone can move your visit earlier in the day.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell or see. Odd noise, standing water, no heat. Have the model number handy if you can reach it.
Pick a window that fits your day. We confirm the address and ask a few questions first, so the van carries parts that commonly fail on your machine.
Our technician tests the machine, explains what failed, and lays out the repair options. Many jobs finish the same visit. Special-order parts get scheduled before we leave.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
